Australian flora soaps are truly unique and in this exact form can only be found at Artisan Soap Works, which will make them an amazing gift. They feature the true relief of a multitude of Australian native plants that we found in my own backyard, friends private property or in the neighbourhood.

To start we created our own silicone moulds using the bas relief flower casting technique – creating imprints in clay, plaster casting, silicone casting. Pouring the soap takes place in two stage with high labour input due to the variations of the moulds and the intricate design. First the white relief was poured, let it set a little, then scrape it all back with a small knife and cotton buds to ensure none of the white soap was left on the surface. Once complete, the coloured main soap was poured. After unmoulding and curing, each of the soaps has to be cleaned up and sized by hand with just a knife and beveller. The intricate top design doesn’t allow for any tools to trim the corners, hence some variations to the edging in the same soap are possible.

Scented with a blend of lemon myrtle, lavender and cedarwood to symbolise the soap motif. Eight colours available, please select the colour from the drop down menu. The plant reliefs will be chosen at random.

Some of the soaps have developed some white patches of soda ash on the sides and bottom, which was caused by the super cold weather when the soaps were made. It is just a minor cosmetic issue and adds to the character of the soap.

Made in Western Australia from local and imported ingredients. Please note that this is a handmade product, and no two bars will be the same. Variations in size, weight and colour will occur, even between bars in the same batch. For this reason, please use the image as a reference only.
