You’ll get an introduction to the chemistry, art and techniques as well as safety requirements of cold process soap making and will go home with small loaves of soap (retail value just under $50) to cut and cure at home. We will talk about ingredients such as oils, colours and scents, how to process your soap at home and from where to find out more information and obtain supplies.

The workshop is best suited for beginners and recipes used in the workshop will be adjusted to suit participants requirements. Please leave a note in the comments at checkout should you have any allergies. There will be a short coffee break.

VENUE: 222 Chester Pass Rd, Walmsley/Albany (Albany Small Business Centre, commercial kitchen)
COST: $125/pp including all materials, small welcome gift and coffee/tea

Limited to 6 adult participants and we need a minimum of 4 people attending to run the workshop.

All attendees are required to wear a long sleeves and long pants, and enclosed in shoes. An apron or clothes which can get dirty would be best as some of the colours and oils we use may stain. You will be provided with safety glasses, fume mask and disposable gloves, however if you are welcome to bring your own safety gear if you wish.

Please dress appropriately for the weather. Bring a cardigan or jacket should it be a cold day. On hot days it is best to being a light long sleeve shirt to cover your arms when wearing sleeveless/short sleeve clothing. Please also bring a water bottle as well as a pen.

Katy will be in touch by email and/or text message a week prior to the workshop to provide the address and some more information.

CANCELLATIONS
Refunds will only be given if your spot can be filled* or if the workshop is cancelled by Artisan Soap Works.

Please be aware that Katy is mother of two young children and there is a likelihood of the workshop being cancelled at short notice due to Katy having to care for the children should they be unable to attend school/daycare. In this case a full refund will be given or Katy will work with the participants to transfer into a future workshop.

*Please note, if the workshop fee was paid with Afterpay or credit card, the refund amount will be $115 due to non-refundable fees Artisan Soap Works pays to Afterpay and Square (credit card facility provider).
